Step Up Your Makeup Routine with Glamour Lashes

It’s no secret that we as humans find a nice, authentic smile attractive. But it’s the eyes that have always been the centre of human beauty. And it becomes even clearer now when we have to cover our faces with masks as a part of our everyday life and interactions with other people. Whether it’s a casual hanging out or a formal meeting, if one’s eyes look good, they look good, too.

Eyes talk, but eye makeup talks louder. As frames around the eyes, eyelashes define the shape of our eyes and offer protection at the same time. Simply put, eyelashes are the most important piece of the artwork. That’s the main reason why many women these days rely on false lashes as the most potent makeup solution.

Types of Eyelashes and How to Choose

When selecting your eyelash extensions, you should consider a few important things. To make the right choice, first consider any allergies or sensitivities you may have. If there are none, then base your choice on your preferences, whether you’re going for a more natural or glamourous, dramatic look. For the latter, glamour lashes are your best choice.

Glam lashes provide a thicker lash look and extra definition to your eyes. You can choose glamour lashes if you want to make an impact, whether it’s for everyday wear or a special occasion, a wedding or a party. The next step is to consider your eye shape.

Almond

If you have almond eyes, you’re a lucky girl! All types of false lashes match this type of eye shape. You can go for any look you want easily. The most popular choice is full style with evenly distributed lashes.

Upturned

In this type of eye shape, the lower lid gets more emphasis and appears longer than the upper lid. You can choose lashes style with volume and length on the outer corners to enhance the beauty of your eyes.

Downturned

In this type of eye shape, the outer corner of the eyes turns downwards and you can’t draw a straight line across your eye. A successful lifting effect can be achieved with winged style eyelashes.

Round

If you have round eyes, then your eyes have a more visible crease in the eyelid. To create more shape, you’ll need to lift the upper lid, which can be done easily with curled lashes.

The orientation of your eyes can play a big role, too. If you have deep-set eyes, then it’s more likely to make it bigger and prefer to apply less shadow on it, while for close-set eyes, you’ll need to focus on the outer corner of the eye. Crisscross false eyelashes will create a perfect illusion of bigger eyes and give a beautiful, attractive look.

Lash Extension Material

There are many different choices of extension material to suit both your budget and the look you’re going after. At the most basic level, eyelash extensions are composed of man-made materials or animal fur. The good news is that you can opt for cruelty-free glam eyelashes and wear them with no feeling of guilt. The following are some of the trendiest types lately.

Faux Mink Eyelash Extensions

Faux mink lashes are a synthetic version of mink eyelashes. They’re the most popular extensions on the beauty scene as a vegan and cruelty-free alternative that offers soft and silky quality. Faux mink eyelashes are available in a variety of lengths, diameters and curls. Some are made from a blend of natural human hair and synthetic fibres, which makes them soft, light and more natural looking. They have good flexibility and don’t lose their shape. Even if they get wet, their curl remains. They’re (ultra)light in weight and comfortable to wear.

Silk Lash Extensions

Silk eyelash extensions are mid-weight and they look both natural and glamourous. They’re darker, fuller, glossier and bold. However, some women may find them not so comfortable to wear. Usually, they’re the best choice for a special occasion, but not for everyday wear.

Synthetic Lash Extensions

Synthetic lashes give the most dramatic look. They’re full and bold and eliminate the need for mascara and any other touch-ups. They can easily make your eyes pop and are a great choice if you want to make a statement with the look of your eyes.

Volume Lash Extensions (Russian Lash Extensions)

This is one of the latest trends, generally made of silk or faux mink. They’re thinner compared to other false lashes, but also lightweight and usually last longer.

How to Apply Your Eyelashes at Home (Step by Step Guide)

Applying lashes for the first time might be a challenging and overwhelming experience. That’s why it’s important to remember that applying false eyelashes takes patience and practice as well. The good news is it gets easier with time, so you may be surprised to catch yourself one day standing up and applying your falsies with minimal use of a mirror. To begin, you’ll need some essential tools like small scissors, pointed tweezers, an eyelash curler, mascara, eyeliner and a close-up mirror. Once you have them all, it’s time to begin.

Prepare

Find a spot with good lighting and set your mirror in line with your face and eyes. Then remove the lashes strip from the package, hold the outer ends and gently bend back and forth. That will help the lashes to better conform to your eyelid shape. To determine where the lashes should begin, line up the eyelash with the point where the rim of your iris begin or hold up an eye pencil from the edge of your nostril to your eye.

The next step is to find the right size by measuring the eyelashes. It’s simple, all you need to do is hold the lashes up over the eye and make sure they’re not longer than your eyelid. If they’re longer, then use the scissors and gently cut off the excess starting from the inner corner because the outer one usually has more volume. Once you have the right size, curl your natural eyelashes. Use an eyelash curler on each eye for 30 seconds.

Apply

Apply a thin strip of glue to the band using a cuticle stick. If you’re using a tube, squeeze a couple of drops on your hand or onto a clean surface. Then dab a very thin layer onto the band and let it dry for about 30 seconds. The drier the glue, the better it will stick.

Begin at the centre of your eye and stick the lash on your upper lid, as close to your natural lash as possible. You can use the tweezers or your fingers, whatever works better for you. When you’re done, adjust the ends along your lash line using your fingers. If you feel like need to touch up any area with an eyeliner, make sure the glue is completely dry before you begin.

Remove and Reuse

Dip a cotton swab in an oil-free makeup remover and rub it gently along the lash line. After a while, the lash will loosen and fall or you can pull your eyelashes carefully, but make sure you start from the outer corner of the eye. If necessary, you can use tweezers to remove any dried glue that remains and eye makeup remover to clean the extensions. Clean them gently to avoid ripping them off and then you can store them in a lash case. For this purpose, you can use the same lash case you bought them in.

One of the greatest benefits of false eyelash extension is that they can be worn multiple time. How many times you’ll reuse them depends on how good care you’ll take of them.
